To extend the application of Volterra system representation.
The Volterra nonlinear systems is a general class of dynamic systems whose nonlinearities can be represented by products of variables or no-memory elements approximated by a power series representation using minimized mean error square criterion. The solution to a Volterra system is expressed in a power series form whose speed of convergence limits its use to systems with small nonlinear contribution. Here, I suggest that error due to convergence be quantified and added to the representation error criterion prior to minimization in order to obtain quick convergence.
The worked out example of gain with saturation nonlinear element shows that it is possible to obtain a 32% improvement when the contribution of convergence is treated like representation error.
